We visited the historic synagogue in Cordoba. These are beautiful inscriptions, though actually that Hebrew writing is just talking about the folks who funded the synangogue. This is one of the few surviving Jewish relics from before the Jews were expelled by them the bad news bears Christian Monarchs, Isabella and Ferdinand, in the late 1492. They funded Christopher Columbus, expelled the Jews from Spain, and established the inquisition. Word for the future: don’t marry a couple of European teenagers to each other and give them supreme power over everywhere. Not good.
