A mosque in the Rupublika Srpska, the Serbian area of Bosnia. A mayor in a local town has been advocating for the rebuilding of mosques in the area, most of which were apparently destroyed during the war.

There was a poignant realisation during the civil war, when all these little children and their parents were fleeing from Srpska (which is majority Eastern Orthodox) into Bosnia. It was the first time that the world had seen the suffering of white Muslims. You could almost see people here (in the UK) saying – ‘Oh, they look just like us…’
